National Park Service Seeks Feedback From Visitors

News from the Governors Island National Monument. On Tuesday, May 17, they are hosting meetings with visitors on the Island to preview exhibits and gather feedback on plans. This is a great way to get onto the Island a few days before it opens to the public, and make your voice heard in plans that the National Park Service is undertaking.
The press release:
Governors Island National Monument Seeks Public Input for Fort Jay Exhibit Design.
We are offering an opportunity for you to comment on and to receive a sneak preview of new outdoor exhibits planned for Fort Jay, this Tuesday, May 17, 2016, on Governors Island.
Participants will be afforded a 1.5 hour visit to the island to examine and comment on the exhibit ideas. Following the review of the exhibit designs, we will take a short ranger-led tour of Fort Jay to see how and where the outdoor exhibits will be located. Since Governors Island is not yet open to the public, this visit will only include the 30 minute comment session on the exhibit plans, a tour to Fort Jay, and then to return to the ferry back to Manhattan. Governors Island opens its 2016 public access season on Saturday, May 28th.
The comment and review sessions will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 10 AM, 11 AM, 1 PM and 2 PM. There is a limit of 15 people per session. Participation is on a reservation basis only. There is no cost to ride the ferry.
