Annual Family Festival on Sunday, May 24

The Governors Island Alliance has announced the activities for for the 11th Annual Family Festival on Governors Island.

The Family Festival will kick off an exciting summer of programming on Governors Island. This year’s festival will explore the intersection between the environment, conservation, sustainability, and art.

All performances and activities are family-friendly and FREE to the public.

The festival will take place in Nolan Park in the Island’s historic district. This bucolic setting, with open grassy areas and tall shady trees surrounded by charming 19th century cottages, is perfect for watching performances, making crafts, playing games, and picnicking.

Kevin C. Fitzpatrick has written and edited seven books with ties to New York history, including "The Governors Island Explorer's Guide" and "World War I New York: A Guide to the City’s Enduring Ties to the Great War." Kevin is a licensed sightseeing guide and has been leading walking tours since 1999. He resides in Manhattan.
